There is not one A-11 watch, but several. It was a series of specifications given to watchmakers during WWII, each giving it their own touches, with small modifications for different branches.
The specifications for an A-11 were simple, but not simple to achieve: precision, durability, and readability. Built to stand up to the rigors of wartime use and help coordinate operations, it has become a benchmark design for American watchmaking that has stood the test of time.

MILITARY PRECISION, HISTORICAL DETAIL
The US Army did not have a specific font that was assigned for these numerals but instead had a specification for how these numerals would be machined. With no specific font available, We manually created each numeral using a variety of vintage WW II gauge images that were used in Willys Jeeps, Sherman Tanks, etc.
